Air Optix is a silicone hydrogel based contact lens which has been designed to increase the level of oxygen that reaches the eye. Studies have found that Air Optix lenses transfer up to five times more oxygen to the eye than traditional soft contact lenses. The amount of oxygen that Air Optix contact lenses allow to reach the eye means that some wearers may be able to occasionally sleep with it in their eye. However, the wearing schedule of this contact lens differs from patient to patient so please follow the precise directions of your Optician.
